Land Registry Opening and Cadastral Mapping in Halkidiki: Everything You Need to Know

We would like to inform you that, according to the official announcement by the Hellenic Cadastre, the cadastral survey process in the Regional Unit of Halkidiki was completed as of Friday, September 4, 2026, and all properties in the area have now entered the permanent operational status of the Land Registry.

This milestone is of particular significance for properties located in the Municipalities of:
  • Aristotelis
  • Kassandra
  • Nea Propontida
  • Polygyros (in the Municipal Units of Anthemountas, Zervochoria, Ormylia, and Polygyros – specifically the Local Communities of: Agios Prodromos, Vrastama, Olynthos, Palaiokastro, Sana, Taxiarchis)
  • Sithonia (in the Municipal Community of Nikiti and the Local Communities of Agios Nikolaos and Metangitsi)
For the aforementioned areas, the “Initial Registrations” (Protes Engrafes) for every property and in rem right are now officially recorded. In other words, all legal rights—such as full ownership, usufruct, and other real property interests—are formally registered and mapped, clearly defining their location and boundaries.

The accuracy of the details as recorded in these “Initial Registrations” is of paramount importance, especially in view of future sales, parental gifts, donations, acceptances of inheritance, the establishment of encumbrances/liens, the execution of notarial deeds, or any other legal transaction concerning your real estate property.

The correctness of cadastral records and the accurate representation of rights in accordance with your title deeds facilitate the smooth execution of such transactions. Any pending issues or inaccuracies may require additional legal review and, in certain cases, prior correction of the registered entries. Inaccuracies may typically include:
  • Omission of a property or right from registration
  • Listing of an incorrect beneficiary/titleholder
  • Inaccurate property description or boundary delineations
  • Misstatement of the type or percentage of the registered right
  • Other discrepancies affecting the legal status of the property
Therefore, in order to verify the accuracy of these details, checking your properties’ cadastral records is deemed essential. Access to your property data is provided via the Hellenic Cadastre’s online portal using your personal Taxisnet credentials.

Our law office undertakes this verification process, which may include, on a case-by-case basis:
  • Searching for your properties in the cadastral database
  • Verifying your rights and ownership percentages
  • Inspecting the spatial representation and property boundaries
  • Cross-referencing records against your title deeds and other supporting documentation
  • Evaluating the appropriate correction procedure in the event that inaccuracies are identified
A timely review can prevent complications and delays in the future.

Contact our office today so we can review your property's cadastral entry and proceed with any necessary corrections.
